Brian Maher started Philly Personal Training when he moved to Philadelphia in the spring of 2009. He earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise/sport science from Elon University in 2008. The demanding curriculum in anatomy, exercise physiology, nutrition, advanced strength training, and exercise programming gave him the knowledge necessary to become the personal trainer he is today. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association, which is the industry’s most prestigious organization.
Having been a personal trainer for over 6 years, Brian utilizes his experience and education to provide clients with sound fitness and nutritional advice rather than gimmicks and quick fixes. Brian also uses his knowledge to teach clients about the benefits of exercise, break down complex fitness workouts and nutritional information into simple, easy-to-follow steps, and familiarize clients with fitness equipment and workout routines. This allows clients to continue working out effectively and eating healthfully even after the training sessions are complete.
Finally, Brian is able to aid his personal training clients in reaching their individual goals by providing unique training sessions tailored to strength training, weight loss, speed and agility, and balance. By understanding and educating clients about the importance of both energy intake (nutrition) and energy expenditure (exercise), Brian is able to help clients obtain optimal results!
